September 1st Blog
Good afternoon to you all! We've had a wonderful day of filming. Our day began on the banks of the Jordan River. We filmed our program, The Baptism of Jesus, A New Moses. We were able to film the entire program in total seclusion. We try to film at times and locations that will allow the spot to convey its 1st century feel. So far, we've been able to do just that. After we finished the program, we filmed our Insights from the Journeys of Jesus, read our Baptism readings, and collected lots of good B-Roll (scenic) footage.
Then it was off to the Talmudic village of Qatzrin. There is a beautiful ancient synagogue there as well as some reconstructed homes. This village gives a good idea (although it is from a bit later period) of what a village would have looked like in the first century A.D. So, we collected some good footage here and also recorded a number of Scripture readings.
Tomorrow We will leave our hotel at 5am and head out for Nazareth. Chelle will be doing a program there on the The Great Announcements (of the births of John and Jesus). As we shared with you yesterday, we think we've found a great spot to film the program. We will attempt (wind-permitting) to film it from the Mt. of Precipice; the traditional brow of the hill from which some attempted to throw Jesus.
After we film this program, we'll head to Nazareth Village. This is a reconstructed 1st century village. We will gather some footage here and then head off to secure the best spot to film our Miracle at Cana program.
We want to thank you for checking out today's blog. We hope you have a wonderful day and we'll see you tomorrow!
