Michelle and Daniel @ Wadi-Kelt

Greetings from McDonalds in Eliat, Israel!  No, we were not craving a BigMac and fries, but McDonalds has free wi-fi internet access, so what do you do?  Yes, we will actually eat here!

We had a great day of filming.  We began the day at Wadi-Kelt in the Judean Wilderness.  We arrived at the spot a little after 6am.  Once we set up the equipment, we began filming our first program in our Journeys of Jesus Series.

We were greeted with a fantastic sunrise  and pleasant temperatures, at least until 9am!                                  sunrise @ wadi-kelt

After that, it was smoking out there.  Thankfully, we were able to shoot the program in about two hours.  Then, we spent another hour collecting B-Roll (additional video footage from the area) and filming a short "Insights from the Journeys of Jesus."  These "insights" are brief summaries, or "nuggets," from within each program.  We'll use them in a variety of ways in the days ahead.

After we completed our first program, it was off to the South.  We stopped at various points along the way and collected some great footage.  We drove near the Sorek Valley (where Samson lived), the Elah Valley (where David fought Goliath), and journeyed through Israel's "Grand Canyon" and the Desert of Paran. The ancient Israelites would have passed through these areas.  We finally arrived in Eliat at about 7pm.  So, after a long day, here we are for a nutritious meal at McDonalds!

Tomorrow is another early day, as we'll be filming again at sunrise.  We'll be shooting the program entitled, "Young Jesus".  This episode will focus on the time after the birth of Jesus, His dedication at the Temple, the visit of the Wise Men, the flight to Egypt, Jesus' education and upbringing, and finally will end highlighting the Passover He attended at age 12 when His family "lost" Him!  Although this material is only elaborated on in about 2 total chapters of the Bible, there is much to discuss!

We also want you to know that several "Israel Photo Galleries" have been added to the website.  We hope you enjoy them! Join us again tomorrow as our Israel Filming Project continues. Daniel preparing @ Wadi-Kelt, filming project Journeys of Jesus
See you then!
